A shot of the Palouse from Steptoe Butte a couple weeks ago.  The shoadows from the clouds in the early morning light made for some interesting colors and layers.

Looks like a miniature very interesting perspective, the dwelling needs to be straightened, nicely layered.

Steve: I lived in Spokane in my pre-photography days and thought the Palouse was pretty interesting then but now I think I would hang out there a lot! Very cool capture of the moment. I like the contrast of the smooth flow of the hills with the chaos of the homestead plopped down right in the middle of it. Well seen, compsoed and captured.>=))>

Thanks for your comments!  Louis, ther's a bit of an illusion here.  If attempted to straigten it multiple times even though i knew the camera showed it was level.  If you check the front portch, it is actually level even though it doesn't look it.  It's an interesting perspective caused by all the converging layers.

Love these shots of the Palouse!  Boy the house sure looks tilted!  It does on inspection look pretty close to level, though you might check it with grids. As you are looking downwards and the house is not straight on to us, it may be our eye is expecting a perspective convergence to a vanishing point to the right.

Thanks for sharing!   Tom

There is some sort of distortion here, note that the light pole, and probably the trees have some lean to the right. It might need an transform/distort sort of to make things look rectilinear.

Cheers:   Tom

Tom and Louis, you are right.  The virtical was definitely off even though the horizontal was good.  Here is a correction.  It looks better, though the tractor seems a timy bit odd now.
