A little more 'exotic' from the last, LOL.
The inflatable pouch is just so fantastic IMHO and looks to me like an old leather soccer ball, well worn. I didn't want too much detail in the rich blacks, just a hint, but to retain the depth to make this 'red gular pouch' really sing out and hoped to retain that 'weathered' look. Couldn't go landscape for the subject to look into, distracting elements on the LHS tree branches.

8 commentsWonderful you got such a clean look and the inflated gular pouch looks pretty much fully extended. The blacks look fine as posted and I like the comp as well. Nicely captured and presented Steve.
A great shot in all respects ! Nicely composed and good on the techs. No nits from this side, only a slight feeling of jealousy
. Well done ! Best regards , Hans
That extended pouch is amazing. This portrait looks fine to me and the background complements the bird well.
Magnificent shot of this Magnificent Frigatebird ! I wish this were mine !
Well done! I especially like it that you kept the detail on the pouch.
Very cool, Steve. I like your composition choices.
A wonderful close-up view. The soft light works very well for this portrait, excellent details, love that red pouch.

Really nice, Steve, and I think your decision on the blacks was PERFECT. Really nice depiction of this species and a great look all-round.
