Wow!  Great bird in flight image.  Nice light and background.  Beautiful bird.

Excellent detail showing in the larger image, Chuck, and a sweet bg palette to work with the magpie.

Hi Chuck, nice flight shot with the wing fanning out, with good detail in the shadows & blacks. Like the overall mottled BKG, just not sure about the 'snow capped mountain (????)', a tad distracting perhaps, I prefer more of a 'constant/uniform' backdrop, just personal tastes cool no deal breaker. Just a thought, but have you tried flipping the image?

I admire your ability to so effectively hand-hold and pan with such a heavy set up!

I agree with all on the success of this shot, but I also agree with Steve about the brighter section of the BG at the top.  It looks like a crop, leaving just a little of it on the ULC to balance the greener vegetation in the LRC might be worth a try.

An excellent capture regardless!

Nice in-flight shot ! Amazing tail as well ! I am not a huge fan of the white in the ULC - if I scroll it out of view, the image appeals even more to me, personally of course enlightened. Cheers, Hans

I have not seen a photo of this magpie before, glad to see such a nice image.  Good color and detail as well as a great pose of the bird.  Had not really noticed the white area until others commented on it.  Could make the image to tight if you were to crop it out, but might be worth trying.  Thanks for sharing.

Cool looking bird you have here Chuck, first time I've seen this species. Sweet flight capture with nice detail. I like it as presented.

Lovely flight image. of a very cool species.  The brighter slice of the sky does not overly bother me.  However, if you were inclined, it might be possible to clone over it with the darker mountain background color.

That's awesome to get this bird so well in flight Chuck, the light area isn't a big deal, if you cropped it would be too tight on the top imo.  If you were so inclined you could clone that area in.  Anyway, I would be thrilled to have taken this. devil
