Another photo from Nome Alalska last June. The male bluethroat has one of the most interesting courtship ariel displays and unqiue songs of this sub-artic landscape. Very fun to watch and very challenging to photograph. I am eagerly looking forward to going back there and photographing these handsome guys again in June.
Canon MKIV; 600mm & 1.4x; 1/500; f8; ISO 1250; tripod; manual spot meter; I removed a willow branch disecting his tail.

Ken:
Really nice shot. Love the singing pose, great colors. I'd think about a crop from the top. For me there is too much space up there and causes the bird to be pretty centered
Hey Ken,
Great colors, detail, pose, perch and love the back ground,
Lovely singing pose with the head turned and showing the throath. Overhere we mostly see the Bluethroat with the white patch instead of red. Wonderful image, cheers, Hans
Gorgeous shot of this Bluethroat Ken. Love the singing pose. Alaska is such an interesting place to visit.

Ken,
What a beautiful bird captured in a great pose, wonderful
Are you kiding me, Ken? Stunning shot of a stunning species, which is a new one for me, and is now very high on my bucket list. Now if I could build up an expense fund to match the want-to-photograph list...
Great pose and view of the throat patch and lovely turn of head, but no doubt the icing on the cake is the incredible background.
Had to show all the members of the family this one. Really nice frame, Ken.
Super shot of this species singing Ken, I agree you could take a touch off the top but as is it leaves space for the magazine cover.

Gorgeous bird Ken, you should be proud to own this one!
Excellent all the way around, love that singing pose!!
