This was taken on top of a kopje in the Gol Kopje area of Southern Serengeti, Tanzania.
Just to explain we had an off-road permit, so could go where we wanted.

what a cute capture. The reflection is gold and I especially like the chunk of green in the upper right that gives a sense of place and some color.

I lLove that we see two tongues and a wonderful reflection in blue pool. The overall colors are richly translated in the lower angled light. The only small thing I would consider would be to lighten the dark shadow area of the rock above the cubs, just to tone down its relative heaviness compared to the rest of the image.

Very nice frame and I really like how you decided to include the full waterhole in the frame. The reflection and the blue sky gives it a wonderful touch. And what subject can be better than cute lion cubs?

Jagdeep,
In answer to your question youngsters of most animals?
Thanks very much for your comments.
The water is actually a puddle in the surface of the rocky outcrop, when it rains it rains!

Very cool Ken. Really like the cubs positions and expressions and the reflections in the water. I also agree that the green background adds to the shot. Maybe I would crop a little tighter in front and right to have less OOF rock in the front. I agree with Lon about brightening the shadows. Not the just the rock behind but also the dark eyes of one of the cubs.
Cheers,
Hisham.
