Addo Elephants

Another shot from our South Africa tour last September.  Addo Elephant National Park is an excellent place to see and photograph elephant herds.  This group was coming in to drink at a waterhole.

Hi Nate,

One of my favorite experiences in Africa was sitting watching a herd coming toward us and enveloping our vehicle as they grazed past. This brings back those memories of the low frequency vocalizations they use to communicate with one another. What a thrill. I wish some of the heads in back weren't obscured, but I understand they don't take direction well. I like it just the way it is.

Nice shot!

I like the staggered position of the front 5, their various sizes/heights make this quite interesting Nate.

Great setting - Nice shotdevil

Nate,

For me Elephants always provide great moments, and this is a fine example. They are nearly always this untidysad

Great park as well.

Hi Nate,

The size difference in the leading 5 is what makes this one work for me - adds just a ton of interest to the shot. Amazing difference in size between the extra-small vs. extra-large models!

Cheers...

Brad
