Another shot from a previous South Africa tour, we photographed this Southern Black Korhaan doing it's display flight over a farm field in the Overburg region of the Cape.

Very cool display you captured, Nate.  Looks like tough light, but the pose makes up for it.

Not bad for difficult lighting.  The blacks have some detail, but could use more.  The pose is excellent......................Jim

A lovely flight shot, Nate. I think the tought light cost you some detail in the whites and the blacks, but it's still quite a strong shot.

Now that's an action shot... Not a species I would think of to capture easily in flight ! Congrats with the result. cool, Hans

Now I'm curious as to the rest of the display, Nate.

1/3200 of a second snippet in time says a lot, but leaves a lot unsaid.

Cool shot.

Love the open beak and fight angle is nice. I do wish you had a bit more detail on the blacks, but looks like he was not coming into the light and not much you can do about it in natural light when that happens with such a dark bird.
