While photographing the Long-eared Owl on the stump the second owl came up from the creek bottom to bomb the others session. What a surprise!

Great, detailed shot of the owl, Neil! The bomber is a nice little bonus despite being partially covered by the oof vegetation. Their colors really match the stumps perfectly. Nice camoflauge.

Welcome surprise! Clear, sharp and handsome specimens. . The owls are beautifully presented in their natural nvironment. Like how their feathers mimic the colors and lines of the stump. Wish it were mine!

Excellent "head on" of the subject, and the extra owl is a nice lagniappe to add to an already worthwhile picture.

Neil: what a great shot and a second owl appears as a bonus. Look closely at the expanded version. Just below the upper owl's talons is the likeness of another owl in the stump. Richard

Neat shot and composition Neil, I think the extra owl shot through the leaves adds a lot to this.

I really like the comp on this one Neil. Love the position of the first one in the frame, but it is really the second owl peeking thorough the leaves which makes this one special IMO.
