After posting yesterday's image, I went out and found a nicely curved dead Douglas Fir branch and used a few zip ties to attach it to the post of the box the Bluebirds are using. It disturbed them so much that it took at least 90 seconds for the male to perch on it after it was up. I went out when the light mellowed out for another go at them and managed to catch the female as well this time.

Great catch Dennis. The detail, the light, the perch, the background and the food make it a wonderful image.
Hey Dennis,
The perch was a real eye catcher for me before I read your description. The texture and arching presence across the frame are very nice. The back ground sets everything off well and the Mom has good detail, a flattering pose and dinner looks yummy.
Well done . . .
This works better indeed, great improvement !!! Looks like you have fun with those ! Cheers, Hans
This one is just fantastic Dennis. Everything works, nothing else to say.
Nice light, pose and techs Dennis. The meal is always a bonus! Good work.
