The Boss

Even fresh from his bath, this American Robin has a domineering appearance to my eye.  He looks like it's keeping a close eye on its backyard full of minions.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal onRRS legs, f/5.6, 1/500, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cloned out a couple of grossly oof foreground grass stems in the LLC, added cnavas at the top and took just the tiniest bit off both the left and right sides to get a 4x5 format.  Final size ended up at 23.3 MP with the added canvas.  Taken in my back yard at 7:33 yesterday evening.

Your comments and criticisms would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

I like the head turn, perch and detail in this one Dennis. I might be tempted to move the bird more to the right so he isn't so centered though.

A character indeed - posing very nicely - quality of the image is spot on as usual ! Maybe a little less central position could work, but it's not really disturbing me .... Cheers, Hans
