This kit is from the same den I photographed before in Grand Teton. I noticed that the kits are much more relaxed even inquisitive around people very early in the morning. This kit came very close to where I was sitting quite some distance from the den. I cloned a branch fromt the right side of the frame and desaturated the small plant in front of the kit.

8 commentsWhat a face. Really nice. The OOF leaf is a bit of a distraction, but not a deal breaker.
Love the light and DOF here Hisham!
This is very nice, Hisham.
I like the narrow depth of field you've used to accentuate those bright, inquisitive eyes on that gorgeous face. The grass clump in the lower right corner stops my eyes from going out of frame along the diagonal tan line of the ground. It's a very small, but important element to holding the composition together.
Well done!
I love the light here. The pup is really cute.
Hi Hisham,
I find this to be a very pleasing image - and the expression on the kit's face is priceless. I MOSTLY like what the wide aperture has done here, especially with respect to the soft background. But...as Jerry pointed out, that thin DoF throws the green foliage in front of the lower portion of the fox OOF and that presents a minor distraction (always compromises!). I agree with Neil's comment about the compositional importance of the small grass clump in the lower right corner of the frame.
Nicely done!
Cheers...

Superb image with great light and nice low angle
I just love baby foxes and you photographed this one in a lovely pose. The shallow dof is gorgeous. The desaturated bit in the front, however, distracts me. The colour looks unnatural. Was is necessary to do this?

Hisham,
You do not get much better than this, the curiosity is intense!
The cuteness is pretty good as well
