This was taken on 11/11/2014 at a favorite spot along the Virgin River. Two significant flash flooding events had occurred in Zion earlier in 2014 which very noticeably changed the riverbed compared to the past several years and washed away a lot of logs and other debris which had accumulated on boulders and along the banks.

5 commentsJim, the X works very well for moving my eyes around the frame here. You've also got some lovely colors with the green, silky water, red rocks and yellow trees.
Or 'X' marks the spot, this place is just beautiful Jim.
I agree with Mark, some very nice colors using the polarizer. And great details throughout..
Excellent long exposure work!
Very beautifully composed around the X, Jim, the long exposure leaving the water nicely smooth to contrast with the textures of the rocks and trees. Lovely colour harmonies too !
No nits from me. I like the effect that the polarizer has in the reflective portions of the image

Beautiful scene and comp with al the diagonal lines. Love the the yellow leaves and green water making for a balanced, peaceful feeling to this image. Lots of nice detail in the rocks.
