One of the more rare plants that live in mesic prairies, wood lilies rival any of the garden lilies in color. I always end up in their habitat during rain showers and this is the best image in the series. 7 commentsVery nice, Jim. I like the refreshing, natural environment and colors. Well composed with excellent dof management. I do wonder how this would look a little toned down overall, or at least the bg toned down.
Jim - For me these are one of the prettiest of all the Lilies and when there are water drops, they become even more special. Wildflowers sure display more life (however subjective that might be) than the garden blooms.
I agree with the suggestions Scott makes but its good as is as well.
Very pretty, Jim. The raindrops are a big plus. The background is well blurred, and allows the lilies to stand out. You might consider lowering the luminosity of the BG only. That should give a definite pop to the subject.
Hi,
Thank you. I'll lower the luminosity of the BG and repost here later today

I adjusted the BG with curves and used the luminosity blending mode. I also toned down the green blotches in the BG with hue and saturation. Looks much better. Thank you
Wow, very nice for all the aformentioned reasons Jim..
I prefer your rework as well, it 'Looks much better."

Wonderful comp, colors, and details. The raindrops are beautiful. I think the adjusted bg in the repost makes this even better. Very nice, Jim!
