June 30, 2015 presented us with a spectacular sunset on the Newport Beach, California Back Bay. This shot was taken just off my patio. Because of the homes across the bay, I usually don't take photos from my yard, tending to go instead to the beach and one of the piers, but the last few nights the sky has compelled me to go out when I was not prepared for the beach.

I like the way the silhouetting allows the viewer's attention to be focused on the colors in the sky and the water. It seems that the horizon may need straightening, but that's the only criticism I have.
