I have been practicing with the 600mm f5.6 and have shot about 600 images with it the last week. Slight crop for composition, noise removal, and some LM with curves for the bright highlight on the bill. The light, although quite dim was too good to pass up and the sharpness could be improved with faster shutter speeds. Unfortunately, these hummingbirds stop guarding the feeders around 10AM when they start trap-lining on local flowers. K5 IIs 600mm f5.6, (1/125sec at f11, ISO 800, fill flash-3ev). ...............Jim

Well done . . .
What a beautiful hummingbird.
Nice image, Jim.
Nice one, Jim. The spread tail is superb-almost looks like that's where the focus was. I love the pose. I do see quite a bit of image degradation in the larger image, but at 1/125th, I'd expect that-it doesn't look like this bird was quite holding still.
You did a real good job on the gorglet. Good color all around. Nice soft background. Tradeoffs when you shoot at f11 and 125th in image quality.
This is a wonderful pose, looks like he's trying to get his 'motor running'
Excellent Jim, nice use of flash to fill softly too

Perfect timing to get that belligerent flare of wings and tail. Lovely color palette and background. All around a fine shot.
I really like the flared tail feathers, position of the hummer and the blurred wings are nice to show movement. Nice work Jim! FYI...you have a few dust bunnies in the upper half of the image.
