Bald Eagle Reflection

by Neil Rossmiller

Gallery: AvianPosted July 6, 2015351 views4 comments

Taken last February when the ice and snow at Farmington Bay Wildlife Management Area, Utah was near non-existent. The concentration of raptors was dispersed over a much larger area and hunting over open water. Pretty unusual for northern Utah in Feb. The thin skim of ice reflected like water. The colored reflections are from nearby civilization.

Canon 5Dii. Canon 400 2.8 w/1.4 ext. ISO1250 f5 @1/8000. set for birds in flight when this grab shot came along.

Thanks for looking and any comments you care to leave.

I like the way you framed this one, Neil.  The reflections on the ice are really cool.

Interesting shot, Neil. The skim ice is wonderful.

I like the comp on this Neil and the glassy look of the water. All the reflections are great as well. BTW, I was planning my first trip last winter and hear about the condiitons, so didn't go.
