Another shot from Western Mongolia. Berik, the 17 year old son of Siliao, was being trained to hunt with Golden Eagles. On the morning I shot this he was doing his first unteathered flights with his eagle from a clay shed to his gloved bated hand some 20 meters away. He shows a lot of pride here in having been successful. The bate was fox innards from the previous days hunt with his fathers eagle.

3 commentsDavid, a very nice follow up image and some more story on this family of eagle hunters in Mongolia. Berik looks very happy here working with this great creature the golden eagle.
As Paul said, good followup image to the previous post. Very enjoyable to see that culture through your photography.
That eagle is just awsome! The eagles are among my favorite birds. It's also nice to know that some ancient traditions are still practiced. My only nit is the vehicle. Crop it out?
Nice image, David.
