Autumn Layers

I have decide to change up the images I wanted to post, and I am going back to this past fall up in Door County WI. This image was captured from a local Wisconsin preserve. I do not know all the details, but I believe Wisconsin has a Land Trust Organization, and they purchase and preserve Forest Areas in the State. This image was captured form one of the Land Trust preserves in Door County Just outside of Egg Harbor, WI.

This image does something to soothe my spirit after a long day, and I hope y'all enjoy it.

Thank you for making the time to have a look, and leaving any thoughts y'all may have

Dude, you're in the wrong season...sad  You have a terrific collection of warm gold/yellow tones here, Ryan that are set off so well by the green shrubs at the bottom that I'm wondering about cropping out the grasses.  Admittedly, that touch of raking light on the grasses is a fine additional as well.

Man, those are some gorgeous fall colors Ryan, especially in such sweet light.  I think that one of the things that makes this relaxing to me is the warm foreground field at the bottom.  Hard to explain why; maybe it's that "pastoral" feeling showing open land, as if you are looking across a sunny area at the wooded hillside.  It would be a simpler comp with the bottom cropped off, but I think I would miss that part.  (But I'm one of those people that likes to include everything I can see in a landscape ;^)  )

Nice promise of the season to come!  Like the various color tones.  Not sure if the bottom strip of grasses should stay or go.  Thanks for sharing.

very good effect, and so intense chromatic effect. Only, I would prefer to see larger version to evaluate detail and transitions.

all the best,
S.

Ryan, glad you've included the small area at the bottom here. I scrolled a crop of the area and immediately missed the viewing impact.

With that all said; the colors, light, layers, all make a very fine autumn scene. No ideas for change from me, just enjoying the view. laugh

The contrast between the green shrubs and the trees is very effectice. The colors in the trees are so nice.... I totally understand why a photo like this soothes your spirit, it soothes mine as well!

Outstanding image, Ryan. The colors are vibrant but not over the top and your composition is spot on.

Everything feels just right in this image, Ryan. Nicely done. I'm attracted to the hint of light on the FG grasses, too.

Really great colors and light. I think I would vote to crop the grass off the bottom up to the bottom of the bushes.

Ryan, I like the coloring on the right side of the image better than the bold yellows, orange and gold on the left.  The grass is a nice foreground and would like to see a bit more of it.

Beautiful colors Ryan! Very nice as is, and cropping off the right 2/3rds to make a vertical is pretty sweet too.

Ryan, This is really a beautiful image. The colors and light are wonderful and for me the composition is perfect. I especially like the strip of grass along the bottom.

Gorgeous colour and texture and beautifully composed - I like the cool of the dark greens in the fg.

Awesome fall colors, Ryan.  I think what sets this image apart is the wonderful light on the fore grasses.  It sets a wonderful tone for the rest of  the story.  Outstanding my friend.
