I didn't even notice the bumblebee in the Anise Hyssop until I was processing this one. There were the tops of a few Crocosmia petals sticking into the bottom of the frame on this one, so I tried removing them without creating too much of a mess. Unfortunately I couldn't just crop because they lapped above the bottom of the bee. I had quite a few exposures of this Pine Siskin in the Hyssop and almost never got good eye contact and a decent pose combined.
7Dii Sigma 100-600mm contemporary lens at 600mm, hand held, f/6.3, 1/400, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Slight crop from the top and right-final size is 18.3MP. Taken July 24th at 3:28 pm under cloudy skies.
I appreciate your input on the Robin post and look forward to your suggestions on this one.

I like the comp and the color spectrum here but wonder if you could brighten up the Pine Siskin a tad to draw more attention to it?
Lovely colourful image. Looks very natural. The bee is a nice touch. graham
No suggestions for improvement, like very much as posted.
The hyssop & bumble bee make it a great frame, & the bird's doing something..
