Stinger

Sony A77

Sony 70-400G @ 330mm

ISO 400, 1/500 @ f5.6

Have been attracted to more subdued color palettes lately. Found this agave leaf in the newly minted Houston Garden Center. Was going for a contrast of the very sharp point with a softer supporting cast. All comments welcome. >=))>

Bill - That tiny stinger provides amazing contrast and stands out so nicely from the soft background. Well seen and very well focussed.

Not sure what happened to the color junkie we all knew, Bill, but this is another fine image emphasizing form and softer color. Well seen and excellent photography.

Good DOF choice to show the sharp stinger with the softer leaves. Well done, Bill!

What you were going for works very nicely.  Well done with a great use of light.  If I had to have a nit to pick, it would be to have the curves of the background leaves just a bit lower so that they were framing instead of behind the point.
