SILVER STUDDED BLUES

by Graham Brown

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted July 27, 2015192 views14 comments

Silver studded blue butterflies are only found in the UK  in southern, eastern england and wales. fortunately there is also a small colony 40 miles away from me in shropshire. This was taken early one morning with the butterflies on their favourite bell heather and when there was plenty of dew around.

Fine image of this pair of BFs, Graham. I like the mirrored comp, the light, the floral perch, the dew, and the bg. Simply outstanding. devil

Well taken!  Like the colors and details in both butterflies and the plant.  Great that you caught both butterflies in a similar pose on the same plant.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey Graham,
Nicely done on these two with interesting commentary.
Your web-site is very impressive, glad to see you posting at NPN again, can't wait to see more of your current work.

How neat, a pair of dew covered butterflies on a lovely flower with a fine background.  It doesn't get any better than this.

Exceptional capture, Graham, even if there weren't mirrored butterflies.

This is really beautiful, Graham!  I love the butterflies, the flowers, the morning dew, and the soft colorful bg.

Graham - The day I find something like this to photograph, I would be jumping with joy. As you know already, this is a killer shot. Nothing more to say here.

Gorgeous, almost looks like the left side is the mirror image of the right side.
