I'm not sure about the ID on this one. From the state of the plumage I think it's a juvenile and I think it's either a Common Yellowthroat or a Wilson's Warbler. I saw adult males of both species in the same area.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 c0ntemporary at 562mm, f/6.3 (could have been a bit higher for more dof), 1/800, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 stop compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 9.34 MP. Taken at our local nature preserve at 6:43 am on July 28th.
I appreciate your comments on the Wren and look forward to your input on this image.
Thanks,

4 commentsDennis, considering all the stuff you had to shoot around and the stuff in the BG, f/6.3 was a reasonable choice. Except for a little softness around the eye, the subject has good detail. It sure is capturing the market on cute!
A head Scratcher for sure, a most unique head position. Very well done!
Cute, made me turn and twist my head a little too, nice work. Ray
HI Dennis
What can you say when a bird will stand on it's head for you. Maybe you could have cropped a little off the right side of the frame, but given that I really like the shot.
