I spent some time photographing some fledgling Peregrine Falcons in the San Diego area this June. The parents there fledged 4 young and when I was there the young birds were just learning to fly and would engage in aerial battles. This was one of them where I really liked the way all 3 birds lined up.

11 commentsI am impressed that you were able to get 3 birds in one frame all in focus. How much of a crop?
Thanks David, this is about 50% of the original image.
Very impressive, I like the poses and the alignment.
Very impressive. At first I thought this was three images of the same bird. Excellent.
If I didn't know better I'd say this is an excellent composite Nate.
Each pose is teriffic all by itself, love the arching progression/sequence through your frame
HI Nate
I am glad you stated that all three Falcons were in this one shot, other wize I would have throught they were copied and pasted in the frame. Nice work.

Pretty amazing capture. All three in focus with great poses, in flight no less.
A wonderful array, Nate. It almost looks like what an artist might have in a sketch book while trying out different poses. Amazing to get all three nice and crisp.
This is simply amazing action Nate. Great focus and really nicely lit to see all of the color and details. Wall hanger for sure.
This is awesome Nate
Not only catching three birds in the same frame, but three dramatic flight poses of them interacting with one another. I think the bird on the left looking back at its siblings makes this for me. Nice exposure work too, great job dealing with the backlight!
Nice work Nate! Great to catch all three like this, outstanding, Ray
