The tops of the mountains were lit up like a huge reflector but the valley floor was in the shade of the mountains on the opposite side. I liked how the line formed by the tops of the trees almost followed the line formed by the tops of the mountains.

Large version recommended.

2 commentsThe shaded tree tops against the sunlight mountain tops is a fine juxtaposition, Gary. The bright blue sky completes this creating a fine sense of that "clean and pure" feeling that a clear day after a big snow always seems to carry.
Me too, Gary. This type of view is what immediately vaults me back in time to my travels throughout Alaska. The larger version is a must see here on this one as it provides excellent viewing deep into the darker shaded tree line. For that ability digital provides a huge advantage over film without the need for ND's or Grad's.......nice work as always from this vast area of our natural world.
