WC - Snow White Light
Somewhere on the Antarctic Peninsula from a Zodiac, handheld, several years ago. Pretty much the polar opposite environment from the previous WC image in DV but quite possibly the ultimate light on white location. That vertical line of sloughing snow really made the comp for me.

5 commentsDave, I agree that that minislide on the left is a great addition. I'm also really enjoying the variety of textures and how well they're set off by the light.

Dave, that is truly a curious vertical slide there on the left. Any thoughts on the cause? To me the oddness comes in where the start point is and then the end, with the jump across the ditch in the center. Definitely different without knowing why, eh?
I might have been tempted to crop this from the bottom to eliminate the lower ledge area, however, with the slide in the scene I think it works best left as is......a neat and wonderful look at a pristine area of our natural world.
There's definitely a whole lot of white in Antartica, Dave! This particular piece has a variety of lighting effects plus an interesting bonus with the avalanche that jumped a crevice. It does make me want to see more though (a wider angle view?).
