Digging back in the archives as things have slowed down here a bit at least in terms of postable images. This one was from my winter trip. Taken at the Gonzales family feeding station on the Foothills road just east of Portal, AZ. I liked the way the bg worked with the grays of the bird and the perch.
7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/6.3, 1/500,, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, no compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped from a horizontal original and added canvas on the top with content aware fill. Final size is 15.6MP. Taken March 8th at 7:49 am.
I appreciate your comments on the Warbler and look forward to your thoughts on this image.
Thanks,

The reds and greys work so well together. Nice catchlight.
Lovely color palette and crisp focus on the difficult plumage. A lovely shot, especially the larger version.
Hey Dennis,
I have never seen this species before and I'm glad my first time is from such an excellent image. This is perfect in all respects from the vertical comp to the complimentary BG.
Well done . . .
Sweet portrait of this handsome male Dennis! A simple and sweet composition, and I really like the light.
