Racetrack Reality

Hi Folks,

I rarely post in this forum, and this is a fairly unusual image for me, so I appreciate any and all comments and advice.  If this is better placed in Enviro PJ, let me know.

This image was taken on the Racetrack in DV during a workshop.  At sunset, the racetrack playa is covered with as many photographers as rocks.  I found the location a bit frustrating until I looked up and saw a colleague talking with the workshop leader and standing a foot or so away from her well placed tripod, where she had been shooting the rock at my feet.  I asked them to step away, and I took this shot:

  • Canon 7D with Sigma 10-20mm at 20mm
  • ISO 160, f/11, 1/100s
  • Processed in LR and SilverEfex

I like the unique take on the racetrack, Marylynne, but kind of a sad commentary as well. Not a rock in sight, only a tripod!

I'm thinking it would make a great book cover, or perhaps a postcard celebrating an exhibition of my work (TBD, of course)?
