This view is of the Middle Fork of the Cimarron River just upstream of it's entry into Silverjack Reservoir. This was my first visit to the area. Continue towards the horizon to climb Owl Creek Summit. This is a blend of 3 exposures via Lightroom and some additional tweaks in Photoshop CC. Middle exposure 1/2 sec @ f11, ISO 250.

10 commentsBob, I think this is a grand view from this location. I really like the setting and the overall composition. I especially like how the support items of the left & right foothills, along with the river frames our view or leads us back towards the Owl Creek Summit? area in the BG.
Although I like the cool blue here maybe a tad warmer for another look. But, it is splendid as is too....
Sweet! The light looks well balanced throughout and the comp is classically balanced.
Best Regards,
Very cool spot! Lovely image and bet this place is killer in the fall.

Nice rendition of this location, Bob. Classic composition, too. The light feels very natural for this time of the evening and I like the color in the sky against the fresh greens of the trees and FG. Is this in CO and what range is that in the distance?
Turned out great, Bob. Very nicely balanced light. I also like the intensity of the greens.
Very sweet mountain scene. The composition works nicely, but I do agree it could be warmed up ever so slightly. It is fine as-is, though.

This is wonderful, Bob! Really nice comp and color. The blend looks great (automated in Lightroom?). Just an overall great capture. Well done!
Bob, What a great view and you brought it together wonderfully. It looks natural and very inviting to me. Excellent comp too!
