So here's my lil' hummer again, makin' the rounds.
The last of the hummingbirds will be heading south soon, and the 'pickings' are getting thin..

I used shutter priority here, was actually shooting for b-flies Monday when I took this.

F/13, 1/1000th, ISO 640, 5DM2, 300mm f/2.8 + 2x ext. no flash using a monopod for support. 11:18am & clear/sunny.

Great save!  Cleaned up version is very nice.  I like the position the hummer is in as well as the detail of the wings.  Thanks for sharing.

Howard, an excellent example of simply cleaning up a photo for better viewing overall. The finished scene places our focus on the main subject of the hummngbird in flight as a result of your extra effort here......cool

Otherwise, we our trying to work around the very busy scene in attempt to understand the main reason for the photo.....wink

As always, the detail in the larger version captures the reality of this little hummingbird so very well. Nice work.......devil

Sweet image, Howard.  Great wing position and I like the dangling legs.  Pretty slim pickings indeed.  Ours left some time ago although I still have a few nectar producing plants around.  Excellent job cleaning up "the mess".  It kind of goes with shooting in the garden.

Nice clean up, Howard.  Would have never known if you hadn't posted the original.

A nice "Before and After" comparison, Howard, and a nice bit of cleanup work. A fine capture, too.
