We as humans often like to ascribe human features to something. "This image strikes of what heaven may be like for bees."

As if bees were humanenlightened But your anthropomorphizing of the insect sure fits here Scott.. Especially as a photographer, you'd imagine a 'bee heaven' awash in colors like this. Excellent detail & light on the bee, and it really pops being black.. I prefer the original post that is off center right.

Excellent!devil

I prefer the cropped one because I like the background better; especially the left side middle.  Wonderful color and light in contrast to the black bumble.

Scott - Really like the repost - much more vibrant + less of the foreground wash putting more emphasis on the flower and bee (it should be that way at least for me).

Love the wash of color.  Hints at the lazy, hazy days of summer.  The black bee contrasts nicely and really draws my eye.  Very nice

Good cram, yet still retaining much of the detail of the bumble bee. I like the first post, mainly because of the wash of light in front of the flower.

Nice colors and cram, Scott. I like the cropped version and the color in the eye. Good detail in the blacks. Well done!

Either crop works.  Good detail in the bee and pleasing cram.  Well done.

An outstanding mix of colors and subject here, Scott.  I'm going to vote for the cropped version.  It has everything that the original post has, with a bit more emphasis on the bee.  Both are terrific!

Gorgeous setting for this bee...I wonder if you (or anyone) knows the exact name of it... I've got a photo of the same bee (photographed in Belgium) and am having trouble identifying it...

Wonderful shot! Grt, Ingrid.
