Specifically, The Cathedral of Saint John The Baptist in Savannah, a wonderfully ornate RC cathedral.
Other than "light" modifications/repairs/upkeep, this is the third and last reconstruction, done in 1873. At that time the cathedral suffered a disastrous fire, burning it virtually to the ground. One of the wealthy parishioners who owned a steel mill donated steel for the columns and the roof framing over the altar. The columns were painted to look like marble.
Shot entirely with ambient light and some overhead lighting. The D750 is absolutely wonderful in noise reduction!

Excellent comp Phil, the large view's just like being there.
Sounds like you're very pleased with the D750, I'm happy for ya
Well done!
The larger version is a treat, Phil. Very nicely done.
I like this a lot, but the people and tripod aren't working for me. I think this would a nice print if those distractions were removed. It certainly is a lovely church.

An amazing place. The lighting is spectacular and I love how well the color and forms of the building are dipcted in this photograph.
Preston, the photographer was hired by the church to provide photos for their web site. Nothing I could do about that. I will get back their some day soon and get one without the distractions. At least he was a Nikon guy!
