Trillium Lake +repost

This is the first "real" shot from my new Canon 5DM3--Trillium Lake on a mid-day drive by on the way to Central Oregon from Portland. (The true first shot was of the TV and the second was of a friend loading the dishwasher--No need to share those, right?)

I'm still getting the hang of full-frame sensor composition (and took the wrong lens on a hike yesterday), but I'm loving the feel and the dynamic range this camera can capture.  I can't seem to clip highlights unless I really try.  Much less processing needed compared to my 7DM1.

Feedback welcome as always.

Marylynne: nicely seen (especially for mid-day) with a good reflection of the snow/cloud capped mountain in the lake. I think the photo would benefit from some darkening of the sky as well as lightening of the right side foreground. The horizon is tilted slightly to the right. Richard

Marylynne, your enthusiam for using your new photo gear is palpable and appreciate you sharing it with us.  I agree with Richard's comment about darkening and lightening.  The boat appears a bit blurry which tends to dimish the image from my perspective.  You captured the scene well.  Look forward to seeing more with that new Canon 5DM3 of yours.

Oooh, yeah, I saw the tilt as soon as I came back to check for replies and saw the thumbnail image.  Sorry about that.  One thing that is the same with my new camera is that I need to rotate about -.51 enlightened.

I darkened the sky a bit and brightened the lower right corner.  Much better, I think.  Not much I can do with the boat, but I did lift it a tish and add some clarity and sharpening with the brush.

The repost is much better. Great capture of a beautiful scene. Would like to see it with the water even more calm.
