Mountain Goat w/repost

Went out to shoot White-tailed Ptarmigan (see Avian gallery) and found 8 Rocky Mountain Goats, 4 nannies with 4 kids, near the trail head and had to take some time to gather a few images before making the ascent for the birds. They were busy licking the dirt of a dried up pot hole that was along the main highway. This road is closed in winter so I'm sure the minerals they were seeking occur naturally and are a regular part of thier diet.

Coments always appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Neil, of good portrait of this goat. I'm thinking a B&W conversion could be an interesting experiment.

Eye sharpness is pretty darn good...'cause I think I can see the photog reflected there! cool  Nice portrait.  I find not nits, and hope you managed other viewpoints as well.

Neil: really like the framing and the juxtaposition of the near white goat against the golden background. The head tilt allows both horns and both ears to be seen as well. Nicely done. Richard

Wow Neil. Fantastic deatil and catchlight in the eye. Whites are so hard to get this kind of clarity and detail with. You did a really nice job, and the B&W conversion is really good too.
