I don't think I've ever had such a complimentary color scheme before.. Made me think of that old Rolling Stones song.
She comes in colors everywhere; She combs her hair; She's like a rainbow Coming, colors in the air...![]()

9 commentsI think I have that album Howard. Very nice and different pose with sharp plumage.
Certainly nice colors and an interesting pose. I like the water drops on her tail feathers. Thanks for sharing.
This just makes a great overall scene Howard. Sharp details and as you pointed out the colors are stunning and I like the pose the bird gave you. I have looked this over pretty closely and all I can suggest is to remove those two black spots from the rock to the left, above the bird. Once I saw them they keep drawing my eye. But that's just me being picky...very cool shot!
Neat capture with the colors of the bird and flowers nearly identical. Good detail and interesting pose.
Beautiful, Howard. Great pose on the bird and the flowers really add something to this one. I do wonder how it would look with the uppr flowers cropped out and just the reflections showing. Excellent image.
Lovely setting Howard and I like the composition you've captured. The detail and pose are excellent as well. My only nit would be your depth of field, I wonder how the background would look if this were shot at f/6.3 or f/7.1 as I think the background would be more pleasing and still render the vivid colors.
This is wonderful Howard! love the pose and the colors. Ray
Sweet image Howard,
Man !
I have always been a fan of the color Yellow and this is a fine presentation with yellow as the primary color. If it were mine, I would be tempted to darken the bright center rock, it competes for attention as is and to me should be more in line with the other two rocks in tonal quality.
Very nice pose, detail and light on the subject.
Nice exposure on this Howard. I also like the setting with the creek and think that might be why you shot it at f/11. But to me it causes the image to feel a little flat (2 dimensional). I also find the yellow flowers at the top are pulling my eye and competing for the birds attention because of them being similar and bright colors.
