Green &Rufous Kingfisher

This image was taken on Nate's Brazil trip to the Pantanal.  My reason for posting this image is because I was amazed at how well it turned out.  Nikon D810 camera, 300 2.8 lens with a 1.4 tc. F4, shutter speed 1/500,  ISO 2500.  Never have I taken a shot using ISO 2500.  I also did some blurring of the background.  I selected the bird and then applied a Gaussian Blur to the background. This was the only time I photographed this bird so I wanted to do what I could to make it presentable.

Thanks for looking and critiques or comments appreciated.

Very cool shot May. I love the tiny feet they have. Nice detail in the Kingfisher. The background is interesting and I think you handled the blurring well. I have been trying to decide if the perch is a rock or a tree? Anyway, you have scored a lot of really great images from that trip. Keep em coming. devil

Wow May!  This is really a clean sharp photo with the specs you gave. Well done.

Excellent, May.  I'd never have guessed this was taken at that high an iso.  Nice head turn and that bit of tongue showing is a very nice touch.

Looks like your camera and your post processing handled the high ISO quite well May. What a handsome kingfisher you have here. The large version looks great.

Nice catch of the kingfisher, May. I particularly like the angle and the open beak. Good techs and nice job with the processing - it looks very natural.
