Pilot & Index

The prominent peaks here are Pilot (right) and Index (left) standing above the Clark's Fork Yellowstone river.  My wife and I went "exploring" yesterday and found some near peak fall colors and nice stands of Aspens along the Clark's Fork.  (5D3, 24-70 f2.8 @ 51mm, 1/30s, f/13, iso 200, polarizer and tripod)

Hey Mark,
Simply Gorgeous !
This image has all the elements one would expect from this neck of the woods and you captured them all beautifully.
This would make an excellent 'See what your Missing' photo.
Well done . . .  devil

Looks like some beautiful conditions, Mark. Wish I were there. Not much to add but I do find some of those fallen trees? to along the river to be a bit distracting.

I like the combination of yellows greens and blues. It creates coolness of autumn nature. Great composition!

Mark, What a beautiful scene. It just feels good looking at this and it certainly makes one want to be there. Very inviting scene and nice work capturing it. Yes, the fallen trees are a little distraction but the rest of the scene more than makes up for it. cool

Mark, this is a super open valley look back to these excellent peaks. I can see a lot of return visits to work this area from all around this view.

The yellows really add a neat appeal to the bluer backdrop here. It does look like end of the season for water runoff looking at how low the water is in this part of the Yellowstone river. The dead trees are no worry for me. Looks totally natural for wilderness. The rest of the scene is plenty strong and offsets any negative from those items. Very nice scene overall......laugh

A good find, for sure! The image flows very easily from bottom to top...

This a beautiful, nicely captured scene, Mark. The yellow leaves contrast nicely with the blues. Just curious, what the effect woud be if this were cropped to pano from the bottom? The bushes in lower right corner grab my eye. This works well either way.

Great image. It's a classic fall image. A couple puffy white clouds would have been nice, sad, but that's not something you can control. Really like the colors and comp. Sweet.

Was just there and witnessed this sight myself. Very well done. The colors were amazing.
