Mystery Curtain

Dewy mornings always invite me to go for the 50mm lens full open, using extension tubes to create an exuberant bokeh in the dew drops, back-lit by the rising sun. Have used it on several subjects, this time it was spider webs.

With this series, I won 1st prize in the 'Micro' category of the IPA 2015. This image is the cover shot of the winning series. The images are all made in-camera, hardly any post-processing.

50mm - f/1,8 - ISO 50 - 1/1250s - extension tubes

Fabulous abstract, Ingrid. I've got to get a 50mm and try this combination. Your results speak for themselves. devil

I can see why this won 1st prize Ingrid. Incredible! Spiders creep me out but I would totally hang this.

A beautiful curtain of draped perls, Ingrid.  The gentle blue background sets them off well.  I'm also really enjoying how the oof drops along the edges have such fine well defined shapes and blend so smoothly into the sharper drops in the center.  Congrats on an outstanding image.

A great find to capture the droplets out of focus. Symmetry, rhythm, repetition, this picture has it all. Beautifully crafted!
