Lower Lewis Falls, WA

Oct 12, 2015 visit to the falls.  A 30 sec shutter using 6 stop nd filter gave some smooth lines to the water.  The water level was lower than I've ever seen it.  Easy to wade across to the other side.

Love it; especially that you present it in B/W. The larger image is a must see. Not even a nit.

Excellent, Ken. The B&W works very well as does the long shutter speed with the water. Getting real picky, I might consider cloning out the sky along the top, but very minor stuff. It is a beauty.

The B&W works really well as does the shutter speed with this image. A very dynamic image.

Sweet black and white, Ken. Love the long exposure bringing out the flow lines and the eddy.  I might echo Harley's suggestion about that little bit of sky.  Very, very nice.

Ken: very appealing photo. I like the leading lines as well as the softness of the falling water. The long shutter speed and B+W is an excellent choice for this scene. This one is definitely worth printing large and hanging. Congrats! Richard

The tones in this are fabulous. I agree with the suggestion to clone out that bit of sky. I really like the composition and the lines formed by the water in the foreground. Definitely worth a print.

Wow, there is so much going on here. A powerful composition. I find myself wishing that there was no reflection of the waterfall in the water. I find that it interferes with the streaks in the water somewhat. Great composition. I like those logs on the right as well.

You've included so many different elements in this wonderful photograph including multiple waterfalls from this rocky ledge, the logs, the multi-directional flow of the water in the foreground and the smal whirlpool or eddy as Gary calls it. I think the decision to present it in B&W really emphasized the flow of the water. Very well done.

This is well done from every aspect. The extra long exposure works well and the B&W tones are perfect.

Beautiful image.  Ditto on the sky (sliver of crop or clone).  I just love the tonal range in this.  The swirls in the foreground have a  curious dashed effect.  At 30 sec., that seems unusual.  Nonetheless, it adds a different kind of energy than the silky falls, and I like it.

Hi Ken, really like this (!) I think the B/W rendition works really well and the shutter speed was pretty much right on - Not meant as a critic - the shot is great, but would have loved to have seen a shot combining a pol-filter with the 6 stop ND as B/W which i would expect to take out some of the reflection of the waterfall and thereby emphasising more the swirls and trails on the wate surface ...
Cheers, Mark

Interesting effect with the water streams and the reflection.  Other than the sky mention, nicely balanced image using the full frame.  Dig it!

Composition, detail, tones subtleness....but the bonus is IMHO the perfectly neutral tuning (neither warm nor cold).
All the best,
