Cape Flattery
by Dennis Plank
I'm not sure it's quite fair to post two on this one, but we just returned from a few days on the Olympic Peninsula (it's only a few hours, so we should do it more often). We spent one day driving from our campground near Sequim (for non-Washingtonians, it's pronounced Squim) to the furthest NW corner of the lower 48. The Makah tribe has a trail in that gets you about as close as you can get to the corner with a nice observation platform at the end. This view is looking more or less north with Vancouver Island in the distance.
5Diii, 28-70mm f2.8L @ 28mm, hand held with bracing from a guard rail, f/9, 1/250, iso 100, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Tiny crop for a 0.61º rotation. Taken at 1:03 pm on October 14th.
Thanks for looking and any comments you care to share.

4 commentsWhat a fantastic view and expertly captured. The rugged shoreline, great sky and the inviting water together make a wonderful composition for all the other interesting elements throughout the image. I too love the depth of the view as mentioned by Mark.
Well done . . .
