The Flip

Same bird as my last post, just a bit later.  I really liked the flip of the wing and the resulting arc of water.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4 TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/8, 1/3200, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 14.3 MP from the bottom and right side.  Taken on July 8th at 8:56 am.

I appreciate your comments on the last Robin post and look forward to your input on this image.

Thanks,

Supercool pose ! Lovely colors as well in the BG. You may want to bring up the shadows a little, lighting up the Robin's chest a bit. But great as posted ! Cheers, Hans

Love the title.  Looks like you said to the bird "now flip your wing" and he said well if I really must "ok, here goes".  Gave me a good chuckle.

Pretty neat photo!  It is great when a more common subject can provide such interesting photo opportunities.  The only thing I see that might improve the photo is to crop more on the right side to remove the yellow plant, or clone out.  It is a minor thing.  Good catch of the action and expression!  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dennis I don't usually go for ultra low angle bird bathing shots but I like this one. The plants don,t bother me too much.

This is a fun action shot with a very 3D appearance, Dennis!  I think the low angle works particularly well here.  The exposure is just right also.
