When I was shooting Eagles early in july, I was watching this immature perched in a tree when a small feather floated down from above.  The eagle seemed utterly fascinated and followed it down with it's eyes until it eventually disappeared below.  This shot with the feather directly above was my favorite, though the feather itself is none to obvious.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/7.1, 1/4000, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped from a horizontal original with just a tiny bit shaved off the bottom.  Taken at 7:20 am on July 2nd at Big Beef Creek near Seabeck, Washington.

I appreciate your comments on my last experiment and look forward to your input on this image.

Thanks,

Great capture, Dennis. Really shows that bird can be kids, too.

Unusual pose from this bird - makes it look like it's trying to blend into the background.  Great colors, scene and DOF

Neat catch of this behavior.  The BG is busy, but sets the scene nicely, IMHO.  Thanks for sharing.
