These dried corn stalks were used for decoration during Columbia's annual Harvest Festival earlier this month. I really liked the soft morning light that was illuminating them against the dark background.

This one is growing on me as I look at it more. Kind of like a weird crusty zig-zag flower pot with a dried arrangement in it.  I would be inclined to crop off the red door wood and hing on the right.I find it pulls my attention out of the image.

Thanks, Harley! I like the crop idea...

...So, here it is.

ps: I also cropped a bit from the left side and punched the curve upward some.

Prteston, the repost is the right idea. I like the crop and the boost in curve too. If these were used throughout town for the festival, this spot seems very natural, not sure what other locales would work as well. The aged wood seems to fit the look as a perfect frame around the stalk.

The crop is better but it got a little brighter in the repost and I just recalibrated my monitor.  Between the 2 for brightness...
I like the fall feeling Preston.

Preston,
I love your work.  It is distinctive and always has a theme.  Keep it up!

Lovely image, Preston. The light is awesome and so is this subject. The wall in the back serves as the perfect backdrop.

While I like the added light in the repost, I'd have to say that I prefer the original composition. The revised version seems too clean IMHO. I wish you'll keep the original framing. :-)
