Kittiwake on Approach

There were hundreds of Black Footed Kittiwakes surrounding the feeding sea lions so I grabbed a few shots of them while waiting for a sea lion to surface.  This one was on final approach for a water landing.  They are beautiful birds, in my opinion, and this shot really shows off the wing feathers (best viewed large).

Sony ILCE-6000, SEL-55-210 @ 106mm, ISO-100, f5.6, 1/4000, handheld.

Nice job, Gary.  I do like the wing position and you have excellent detail in the white plumage.

Nice wing position and with the nice ocean background, it sets off the white bird nicely.

Good flight position, the handling of whites is excellent, and there is good detail. A solid image, Gary.cool
