A few of us spent a couple nights and three days on a Trout Lake WA photo trip.  Visiting favorite spots for fall photo-hunting ...a fun trip and we had superb weather.  On this evening the day ended with a surprise light-up at sundown of Mt Adams.  The sky had been grey and cloud filled with little chance of the sun getting through.  Then 'boom' ....   5 minutes of vibrant reds.  We were fortunate to have our cameras already 'tripod'ed' and ready.  Taken from Elk Meadows.

Gorgeous, Ken.  I knew I should have gone back there this fall.  The red is incredible.

Awesome light, Ken.  Getting the colors showing on both the clouds and the peak looks great.  Especially in the larger view, you've got some good detail in the trees along the bottom.  You had me going to the maps because we camped near Mt. Adams in 1991, the map check showed that we camped at Takhlakh, which also included some fine views of Mt. Adams.

The larger photo is really gorgeous Ken.  Beautiful colors in the sky, on the peak and even in the foreground.  I hope you have this one hanging on a wall somewhere.

Gorgeous light on the mountain, Ken!  The large version has much more presence and detail.  You can see where you lightened up the foreground trees but the overall balance looks very good.  I agree that it would look very nice on a wall!

The vignetting is a bit too strong for me, but other than that this is gorgeous. Such splendid light on both the clouds and the mountain.

Wow, Ken! This is a stellar image. The comp is simple yet powerful, and the colors are amazing! I can't stop looking at this one.

The one thing that I think could be improved is the blend at the treeline. The luminosity balance seems right on to me, but I see a light halo at the center of the image, and then a reverse halo (is that a thing?) through most of the remaining tree line. The tops of the trees are almost black. I would work on that blend some more, because that's all this needs to be perfect. TK's actions are great for this type of thing, if you haven't tried them. I could also see a little less vignette as Roel says.

The redness of the snowcap and clouds is very nice.  I wonder if selecting the mountain and adding a tiny amount of graduated brightness would work to highlight the mountain more.
