Wet Wash

The abundance of water at this time in the washes throughout the eastern region of Zion adds an element of interest in photographs, transforming a scene which would not typically be all that appealing into a scene with great interest compositionally, or giving a different look to an already a appealing scene.

Nice combo of the sand pattern, the walls and the water all leading through the frame. It is a classic Utah slot scene well done.

Lots of nice patterns here, both on the wall and in the sand on the foreground. The picture does look a bit flat to me, and I think those patterns would benefit from a bit more contrast.

The water looks like it is a bit muddy, from recent rains I guess.  I think some added contast to the image as a whole might bring it to life a bit more and give better definition to the mud patterns and canyon walls.  The water does give an added element to place where it is usually dry.

Another nice Zion image, Jim.  I agree it looks a little flat to me too.  I'd add some pop if you're so inclined.

Thanks as always for the constructive suggestions.  I did increase the contast of the original raw image quite a lot.  But here it is with a little more added contrast.

Hi Jim,

This is a sweet little viw of Zion, and I like the re-post because it has more of impact with the added contrast. I like how the image invites the viewer into the scene with he lines moving the eye along through the image.
