Morning Bath

Thanks for all of the comments on my previous post. This is a fairly decent sized bull moose that I photographed earlier this fall in Glacier National Park. I had just moved into position when the moose decided to shake off in the water. The early morning sun filtering through the clouds provided me with some nice side-lighting.

Thanks for looking, and don't forget to check out the larger version!

Are. You. Freaking. Kidding. Me? frown

Larger version is spectacular. Gorgeous tones, and your decision to up the SS along with fantastic exposure results in a happy infinitum of water droplets suspended everywhere. Seriously cool image, Zack. Highly envious but pleased for you.

Classic example of the right time, the right place! The army of small drops in the air are absolutely amazing. Great shot!

AMAZING shot Zack.  Nothing else to say, except I look forward to seeing this in large format at some awards ceremony next year!

Hi Zack,
Beautiful. Great side light highlighting the water drops. Great layered backgroud. Only nit is that the moose is centered in the frame. I would crop a little from the right side and bottom or add more space on the left if you have it.

Cheers,

Hisham.

Lovely moment captured Zack, well timed too. I just wonder if dropping the overall exposure by say a third may just emphasis more the spray (well exposuse as presented), love the arching trail from the jaw and neck. I would be temped, if anything, with darkening the FG up to the water 'ripple' just brings more 'depth' to the image I think.

Interesting lighting here.  I like the somewhat soft contrast.  Gives it a bit of a dreamy feel.

This is just stunning, Zack! Definitely a new favorite of mine from you. The light is just gorgeous, as is the moose. Plus, all that water flying is amazing! I love the way the water is curling near his bell.

Hi Zack,

Very nicely done - with the result being a powerful image.

I think Steve made some pretty good points re: some exposure tweaks (in post-processing) that might strengthen this image even further.

Finally - I have to address the elephant in the room that everyone is tactfully avoiding: Morning Bath or Morning Shower?? enlightened

Cheers...and many thanks for sharing this one...

Thank you all for the comments!

Steve, thank you for the suggestions. I have since darkened the exposure just a bit to make the spray "pop" a little more. I think it was an improvement.

Brad, thanks, I was in a hurry when I posted this, usually I try to come up with a more clever title. cool
