I also do not really enjoy animals on a road but it is often easy to resolve if you widen your search,. In the case of Leopards the most obvious way is to take the image when the animak is up a treee. there are also many areas where "off road" driving is permittrd and you cango on foot

This imagwewas taken in the Khwai Community area of Botswana where you can "off road" and there are plenty of Leopards.
A rather "busy" background, but in my view more pleasing overall in a non man-made situation.
I would reccomend a "mobile" safari.

4 commentsyou are right, not everywhere in Africa one can drive off road in the national parks and often that is frustrating if one is on photo tour.
As you already stated the background is a bit busy. All over I do not find it too distracting except for the dead tree at the left hand site. For displaying purposes I would recommend a strong crop from the left in such a way that the picture gets a more portrait character. I tried that by moving the web browser window out of the display area of my screen in such a way that the tree was not shown anymore. I find even going a bit further left improves the significance of the leopard on the photo.
I like this one and don't mind the background. To me a leapard shot with a clean BG unless it's in a tree looks odd given they are creatures of the thick bush.
