Moods of November 2

Larger version included for best look. This is a picture I made early yesterday morning while hiking along the Wisconsin River. I wanted to continue with the Moods of November theme and thought I would try one picture a week that would work with that theme. So this one is week two and I truly enjoyed being out on this early November morning. Thanks for all of your thoughts on the first one as well. Those are what made me think about trying to capture the different moods that November has.

On par with your previous one Nick, great stuff! Nice light and a whole bunch of interesting stuff to explore in the large version. November is ridiculousy underestimated.

Talking about november I think of chilly weather with strong winds and rain... This looks really peaceful. I like the 'flow' to the right formed by the shoreline, the log and the leaning tree. The glowing grass nicely separates the reflection in the water form the wood in the upper part. A touch of yellow and green and some sandy islands. Nice picture with just a few ingredients.

Strong Composition Nick which is typical from you. The tones are subdues but that works with the late fall mood I believe you're expressing. Does seem a little undershapened?

The sunlight on the riverbank grasses really gives them a fine glow, Nick.  The touches of bank intruding into the river in the lower left are a fine touch as is the piece of driftwood.  Looks like a lovely fall day for exploring a quiet river.

I am really enjoying the light and how it illuminates the brown grasses. The grasses seem to be glowing in thw wonderful light. The element in the frame do a beautiful job in keeping interest, and I feel at ease while my eyes enjoy this scene.

Wonderful theme, Nick!  It makes me realize that I am often guilty of photographically hibernating early after the leaves drop.  Your depiction of the warmth of sunrise makes it easy to feel how strongly the Sun provides welcome warming on a cold November morning.  In addition to the beautiful warmth, the diagonal lines of the river bank, grasses and the leaning tree make this a compelling composition.
