Global Warning

The title is no misprint.  There has been a lot of good information about melting glaciers due to global warming (except in Antactica).  There are many places on the planet where one can visit glaciers and see extremely dramatic evidence of glacial recession.  In the last 20 years I have visited glaciers in Alberta, Canada; Glacier National Park in Montana, the Kenai in Alaska, and Iceland most recently.  This image was taken near Seward, Alaska in Kenai Fjords National Park in 2006.  I have included an artists depiction of what one would see from the same location 5 to 7 years previously based on information located on signs in the park.
A shameless plug for the 2012 documentary "Chasing Ice" which does a superb job in covering this issue.

An artists' (who, me?) depiction of the same glacier taken from the same spot about 5 to 7 year earlier at exactly the same time courtesy of the magic of photoshop...

your photo makes a good, but disturbing point.  I noticed this reduction at Portage Glacier when I visited it 20 years after first seeing it.  The 'artist view' is a good addition to your image and story.  Thanks for sharing.
