Eastern chipmunk with full cheek pouches was photographed near the bird feeders at Whitefish Point, Michigan.  This individual was totally buried in the thatch and popped up occasionally while hunting for seeds. K5 IIs, 600mm f5.6 (1/250sec at f8.0, ISO 800).  Due to flat lighting, I adjusted lightness and contrast with TK's LM and reduced the saturation of yellow and green with an adjustment mask.  Crop for comp...........................Jim

I like this image a lot. It gave me a chuckle when I opened it. If an image gets a reaction it works. Everything works well, the dof, great sharpness, the composition and the environment.

This should be viewed large to appreciate the nice detail.  You depth of field control is very good and this image also illustrates how important it is to get as close to eye level as possible.  Good posting.  Thanks.
